User Interface

Once you have set up a data space as described in the previous section, you can start publishing maps from ArcGIS Pro to GeoServer, and metadata to GeoNetwork.

To understand how, let's dive into the user interface of GeoCat Bridge.

Publishing behavior and licensing

Please note that only licensed users can publish maps to their own data space(s). If you are using the Community Edition, you can try out the publishing features with the preconfigured GeoCat Live Demo data space only.

GeoCat Bridge adds 4 main components to the ArcGIS Pro interface:

  1. A GeoCat Bridge backstage tab to configure the add-in (as described in the previous chapter).
  2. A GeoCat Bridge ribbon tab that provides (publishing) tools and shortcuts.
  3. A dockable Data Spaces pane to manage content and view publish progress or results.
  4. A dockable Style Preview pane to preview and save SLD styles of selected layers.
