GeoServer Enterprise 2024.3 Release Notes

GeoCat is pleased to present our latest distribution of GeoServer Enterprise.

Overview

GeoServer Enterprise 2024.3 provides support for publishing geospatial data using open standards.

This distribution is made available to GeoCat customers:

  • GeoServer Enterprise Standard distribution provides a web archive (or docker image) of GeoServer bundled with popular extensions backed by GeoCat long-term support

  • GeoServer Enterprise Premium offers a custom distribution with your selection of extensions backed by GeoCat extended support.

  • GeoCat Live provides a hosted GeoServer environment

GeoServer Enterprise 2024.3 is a recommended upgrade for all our customers and is compatible with GeoCat Bridge for both ArcGIS Desktop and QGIS Desktop.

GeoServer Enterprise 2024.3 release notes:

  • Offers our GeoServer Enterprise Premium customers “predefined war” service with a ready to use war including your selection of supported GeoServer extensions.

  • GeoServer Enterprise 2024.0 is proudly open source with the latest GeoServer 2.26.1, GeoWebCache 1.25.1, and GeoTools 32.1 technologies.

Known issues:

GeoServer Enterprise Standard

  • Java 17 Support.

  • Search improvements, use quotes to search for an isolated word

  • Demo Request Page rewritten.

    In addition to being more capable, with the ability to show response header information, this rewrite mitigates an entire category of server side request forgery (SSRF) attacks.

  • Update the JTS Topology Suite 1.20.0 release for improved GIS performance.

  • Geostationary satellite AUTO code

  • labelPoint function improved, no longer requires a tolerance when used to determine stable label location during tiling.

  • Improved GeoPackage compatibility, preventing issues when exporting from PostGIS, and resolving differences in handling of TIMESTAMP for timezone agnostic use with QGIS.

GeoServer Enterprise Premium

  • Update to latest 0.14.0 MapML View resulting in extensive improvements.

  • Raster Attribute Table extensions is now available.

  • Improved vector tile generation, with greater control of included attributes, option to generate a companion set of labels, and merge features with the same attribute values.
